We start by doing a thorough skin exam. Some conditions may be pre-cancerous, which we can treat with liquid nitrogen or photodynamic therapy. Photodynamic therapy is also preventative in nature as it can prevent new spots from coming for up to a year. When we find suspicious lesions during your skin exam, we will do a biopsy and recommend necessary treatment to remove it if it is a skin cancer. Treatments include office based surgery, superficial radiation treatment and for more advanced tumors like melanoma, chemotherapy.
